Billets can be used as commercial product as well as the starting stock for the manufacture of forgings, tube (tubular billet), bar, and shape.

VSMPO is capable of producing billet with a diameter range from 130 mm to 350 mm. Billet with diameters exceeding 350 mm can be delivered per customer agreements. All Russian and International titanium alloys melted at VSMPO are commercially available as billet product.

Billets are forged on 3000 and 6000 ton presses, an 800 ton radial forging machine, and on hammers with weight of falling parts 8 ton, 5 ton and 3 ton.

A new specialized complex with a 2000 ton forging press, eight gas heating furnaces and auxiliary equipment that is currently being launched will significantly expand billet manufacturing and allow for the production of long round and square billets.

The proven methods of billet manufacture together with engineered deformation in both the β-phase and (α+β) - phase allow for the production of premium, disk quality billet.

Forged billets are subject to heat treatment, machining, and ultrasonic testing.
